Ghost Town

Ghost Town

Wind whips through a desert town
Shutters bang... the only sound
The ghosts of many linger here
With dust upon the ground
Once its picture-house was king
Where movies beamed through smoke
A vacant piano sits alone
Since actors sang and spoke
In the town an empty diner
Crome transformed to rust
Vibrant chatter spoken here...
All gossip whispered lost
Cars abandoned show an age
When things were meant to last
Pride forgotten long ago
Left here with times of past
The wind blows by unnoticed
And as silence settles down
Nothing moves but shadows
In this old abandoned town
